Product reviews of 1 Lb Granular Frankincense & Myrrh (IGFMB) [Health and Beauty] Review: Resin is definately the way to go! Beauty product: 5 Stars
I purchased some Frankincense and Myrrh incense in both resin and cone form. The cones just smelled like smoke and were much less cost efficient. I think Frank & Myrrh is an acquired smell. If not for the Biblical ties, I'm not sure I'd care for it that much myself. But, it is growing on me. Unlike the cones we purchased, you can really smell the distinct aromatic Frank & Myrrh fragrance produced by the resin. I'm new to burning incense, and haven't invested in charcoal or any special burning apparatus. The recomendation to heat the resin on low heat on the stove seems to work well, without producing smoke, unlike the cones. It also lasts far longer. Where one cone smolders for about 15 minutes, resin on low heat in a cast-iron skillet will burn for hours. That said, I liked warming the resin even more. I didn't invest in an exotic $50 resin warmer with variable temperature control. Rather, I experimented with just a cheap, $5 candle warmer, sold at Hobby Lobby, and put the resin in a metal (not aluminum) can. After the initial couple hours, warming it isn't quite as pungent as burning, but it lasts for days, maybe even weeks, depending on frequency of use. If you like resin incense, for $5 it's worth giving it a try.
Review: Sweet Fragrance Beauty product: 3 Stars
Please include instructions on the best way to get this started burning. I had a hard time getting it ignited. I used it in the Incense Censors I bought. If you have a more charcoal based incense available suggest that. Thank you
Review: Very dissapointed Beauty product: 2 Stars
This is a very low quality incense. The frankincense has a bad strong lemon scent and the myrrh doesn't really smell like anything. I got a couple of huge pieces of myrrh some big pieces of frankincense and a lot of powder. Overall very dissapointed with it, not worth it at all.
Review: good Beauty product: 5 Stars
Only problem I had was to separate the incenses, other then that It was fine
Review: not as strong as expected Beauty product: 2 Stars
I have purchased resin locally in the past & thought I'd give this a try. This is significantly cheaper than the local product. However the local product is much stronger. I suppose you get what you pay for.
