It does the job and keeps my flat iron off the counter itself but I cannot keep it suctioned to the counter or the mirror -- when I first got it, I stuck it to the mirror, put the flat iron in and went on my way.. when I got home later that day, the whole thing had fallen. I have never been able to keep it stuck to anything but it came with screws so you could probably screw it into your drywall if you wanted to do that. As long as the flat iron is more top heavy, the holder stays up on the counter and works well. It does get hot though too so don't try to move it after you have recently had the flat iron on.
