The people who give this product a bad review are simply not choosing the right tool for the right job! Period.
If you have no restriction in mobility or of reach or access to every inch of your body when showering, then you might not need this. I do, and in my experience, this product is the best of its kind. What makes it so great? Think of it this way: Just like dental floss can allow you to touch every hidden recess of your mouth, this loofah allows you to do the same when showering.
The spongie-like interior is great for holding soap. Just get it wet, squirt some body wash on it, then rub it together to make a sudsy lather. On either end is a soft cotton rope loop that is easy slide your hands into for a sure slip-proof grip. Now you have a soapy scrubbing floss for your whole body! It is very stretchy which allows you to scrub the bottoms of your feet, your entire backside, all your bends and folds, etc. , much easier that a brush with a handle. The mesh on the outside exfoliates your skin and feel great.
When you are done scrubbing, just run it under the shower head and squeeze until the sudes are gone. Squeeze out excess water and hang it in the shower. It dries fast and never grows mold or bacteria! Every time I use it I do a quick smell check first -- it is never sour and has no odor whatsoever. And it lasts! After a couple years of daily use it becomes stretched out a bit; that is the ONLY reason I ever replace it.
