My wife and I both suffer from terrible eczema, and so far we have found this to be the only OTC cream (non-steroid based) on the market that doesn't make our itchy skin worse or cause pimples from pore clogging. I've been using this product off and on for about 2 years, and at first I didn't feel it was helping. At that time I was living overseas and there was something very bad in the water that was causing terrible dryness and itching like I'd never experienced before. I guess it must have been a chemical or organism causing an allergic reaction. Under those conditions I found the Aveeno cream only made the itching worse. But, I found that when I moved back to the States, after I had gotten over my hives and fungal infections, this cream worked very well during the dry winter. This cream works very well for general dryness and helps to prevent abrasion caused by dry skin rubbing against rough clothing, but it's not something that you want to put onto an inflamed sore (either caused by allergic reaction or infection).
The "advanced care body wash" is also pretty good as far as soaps are concerned, but I found most of the benefits come from using the cream.
