This is a 2 sided item- use one side to scrub and the other to lather up. Both sides do their jobs well. Of course, kitchen sponges have functioned like this for many years with one side for scrubbing and the other for lathering up. So they are taking that principle from the kitchen sink to the shower. This is also a concept used in many "bath lines". I think the product is fine but it is a little pricey. Review: Good, I guess

Give it to the AXE people to turn a sponge into a "detailer shower tool". This is essentially a sponge with two sides, red for rough scrubbing, black for softER lathering, with a rubber lining for easy holding.
By softer though, I mean softer than the red side, not soft. I personally found both sides a bit abrasive after a few scrubs, much more so than the nice buff-puff I currently have which I got at the local store.
So, if that's your cup of tea, then this product is not bad at all. Not exactly sure it's a compelling one either though. But then again, this is after all just a shower sponge.

The official product description is a bit cheesy, but it's actually a good product. Yes, it's a loofah. But for guys. So it looks more "masculine," and actually it is something a guy could keep in the shower and it doesn't scream "loofah." What I like about it is that you can actual hold the thing and control it while scrubbing with it. Anyone who's used loofahs knows that the things are kind all over the place, they're hard to scrub yourself with. This thing has a great grip and works quite well - it also has one side soft loofah and other side harder plastic scrubby thing for harder scrubbing. Overall, it's a good product. I'm not sure what they're charging for it, since I'm reviewing it via the Vine program, though it says it comes in a Pack of 4, which made me wonder how long it lasts. Then again, if it's cheap, and the pack of 4 lasts a long while, I'd say it's worth it. And in any case, if you're a guy and won't let a loofah touch foot in your tub, this is for you. The Axe Detailer Shower Tool combines 2 great "Shower tools", A bath sponge and scrubber. But it comes with a con : More Shower Gel use. I had to use about 24 percent more body wash than usualy with this. The scrubber side is great to scrub at dry dead skin and has also been great as a facial scrubber for my acne. The loofah/sponge does what any other bath sponge does. And Unlike a lot of bath sponges, it doesn't fall apart easily, which has been a recurring problem for me with bath sponges.

CONS
1. This may require you to use more body wash than a standard bath sponge.

At first glance you may think it is just another shower scrubber but there is much more to it than that. The Axe detailer has two sides. First, the soft mesh side is great for your entire body and second, the scrub side for feet, hands and elbows. Both sides are soft enough to be comfortable to use but rough enough to get the job done. But I have to say that what I liked the most was the rubber grip handle. This is what makes it stand apart from others for me. Normally when you use these mesh scrubbers, they have a tendancy to spread all out, leaving you with not much of a grip. That's also what causes me to replace them, they lose their effectiveness when they get stretched and sloppy. I loved gripping the rubber and getting a good, solid scrub. It is large-size for a man's hand but I found, as a female, easy enough for me to use also.
