Product reviews of Badger SPF 30 Sunscreen For Face & Body 2.9 oz (87 ml) Review: Effective Beauty product: 4 Stars
This product is the second most environmentally friendly suntan lotion on the market according to the environmental working group. I am pleased that it works, but I am loathe to actualy apply it since it is so thick and difficult to rub in! :) It has a pleasant, natural scent.
Review: Environmental Working Group? Beauty product: 3 Stars
This product got a lot of publicity from the Environmental Working Group's study of sunscreens. The problem is I am not sure what that group is or what methodology they used. "Consumer Reports" mentioned that the Badger product has some nano sized particles (as well as slightly larger particles of zinc mixed in, too,) but I don't know what "Consumer Reports" said of Badger's performance. It seemed to keep my skin from reddening - at least by eye - about as well as the more chemically laden Neutrogena or Coppertone sunblocks I've used. Badger does lump up in the tube and leaves more whitish, lumpy residue when applied, due to its reliance on zinc and the way its made. This means it is not at all the best for eczema/psoriasis/acne sufferers or for sensitive skin. So I think it's over-rated, and for my particular skin ultimately a wrong choice, but I still give it three stars because your skin might vary. No Ad sunscreens are sometimes said to be better for sensitive skin - although I can't really see why from the ingredients label - I do use that without the irritation Badger caused.

I think those first two reviews sort of skim past some of these nuances.
Review: Excellent Sun Screen for me Beauty product: 5 Stars
I had forgotten sunscreen on a biking outing. By noon my forearms were red. A country store offered only Badger sun screen as my only choice. At the end of the ride around 4 p.m., the redness had not increased and by the next day had disappeared. The product offers UVA and UVB protection, resists turning white, and has none of the feared toxins that I know of.
Review: Excellent sunscreen Beauty product: 5 Stars
I bought this sunscreen mainly because it is ranked as one of the safest sunscreens in EWG database. I use this sunscreen often before swimming. I really like it, and it works very great. One of the things that I like the most about this sunscreen is that it is very lightly scented. I usually put on lots of that on my skin. Before buying this product, I spent some time reading most of the reviews. One thing that was quite common among the majority of reviews was that people were saying that this sunscreen is very thick. I have to say that I do not totally agree with other people. Yes, this sunscreen is a little bit thick. However, that is exactly what I expect from a sunscreen CREAM. This is not a sunscreen lotion. I want to say that I did not have any problem applying this to my skin. In conclusion, I give this product 5 starts, and I totally recommend it!
