Product reviews of Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time Review: Don't waste your money try monistat chafing gel instead Beauty product: 1 Stars
I use monistat chafing gel as a primer and it's a whole lot cheaper and very effective at controlling oil. The dimethicone is what helps your makeup stay put and they both have this and you'll save your money in the long run. Amazon sells them in a three pack for less than $20 and it's got free shipping. I use this with my bare minerals and it's wonderful.
Review: Good Base for Mineral Makeup for Dry Skin Beauty product: 4 Stars
Bare Escentuals Prime Time is where you start when preparing your skin to receive Bare Escentuals mineral make-up. BE claims that it's good for all skin types, but I beg to differ. Dry skin...yes! Women with combination or oily skin wouldn't benefit from using this product all over their faces as it is greasy.
Designed to fight dry, flaky skin, fine lines and enlarged pores, it basically evens out your skins texture, leaving a slick, slightly tacky surface for the minerals to adhere to when you apply the makeup. Free of preservatives, you'll not be hurting your skin by using it, but the 'satin-finish' that we dry-skinned girls love may be an oil slick finish for others. Admittedly it's good stuff and even with dry skin, you use it sparingly for the best results. It's said to be 'oil-free', but the antioxidant rich, anti-aging properties from plant extracts does make it quite slippery and for me, oily.
The reason I give it 4-stars versus 5: Great for around your eyes and mouth, Prime Time is certainly something to have on hand, but perhaps not perfect for all over coverage prior to putting on your Bare Escentuals mineral makeup.
Review: Great product! Beauty product: 5 Stars
A tiny amount does a fantastic job of setting foundation and powder. Gives a silky smooth finish in seconds.
Review: Great! Beauty product: 5 Stars
I've heard some say if you have oily skin you should stay away from gel like primers. Well, I have oily skin and this gives me no problem what so ever. It's every silky and there's no smell and no sensation when you put it on. I tried out the Rimmel primer but I found my makeup was blotchy after a while. This product is best with mineral makeup.
Review: It works great:) Beauty product: 5 Stars
I got a sample of this with my order of BareMinerals starter kit, its a sheer soft gel that the skin absorbs right away, its so light and gives a silky feel to the skin, and its not oily at all!
I really like it, I never used a foundation primer before, I just use a sunscreen or any other cream for my face before makeup, you know it works the same EXCEPT that this gel is not oily and doesn't come up to he surface later on the day!
Try to get a sample and see how you feel about it, I like i!
