There are so many kinds of mascaras out there. One girl's holy grail is another girls garbage. This mascara is kind of half way for me. I like mascara that gives definition meaning I like the look of individual lashes, not thick stuck together lashes. I also like mascara that lengthens my lashes. I have thick lashes already. So I tend to select products that say "lengthening, defining" not "volumizing."

BADgal is a definite NON volumizer. Which is ok with me. It does define well. Unfortunately it doesn't lengthen much.

Here's the scoop:

The packaging is typical benefit which is to say it's "cute n sassy." The tube is fat and the wand is a fatty cone shape. It looks as though it would be unwieldy, but it is quite easy to manipulate and the pointy part of the cone works well to get the inner corner and outer lashes without clumping too much.

The formula is dry looking and velvety. It goes on easily and does not tend to clump. It darkens the lashes. It's great for blonds that want a subtle look for evening. Good for brunettes who want a natural look for daytime. The formula is build-able but don't expect any volume or much in the way of length. Once it dries it does not get hard or shiny.

Washing off is fairly simple. Use a foamy cleanser. I use Purpose which is a gel consistency that lathers up into a lot of foam. Don't rub too much. It will come off. Use a tissue to wipe away - don't use a rough washcloth on your eyelids!! Rise and you're done.

I didn't notice any flaking and I have not had trouble with smudging (the under eye raccoon look). I used to have the under eye smudge issue with almost every mascara until I changed a few things. If you are having the raccoon look problem with mascaras I'd like to recommend some solutions. First, when you apply moisturizer, don't get it on your eyelashes. If you usually rub moisturizer between your palms and smoosh it all over your face, stop doing that. Take care in the eye area to prevent getting that product on your lashes. Also if you use an emollient eye cream: same thing. Don't get it on your lashes and don't use so much that it doesn't sink in. Just use enough. That stuff isn't going to make wrinkles go away anyway. Deep down you know it's true. Ok next, put on your mascara. If you don't need it on your bottom lashes, don't put it there. If you do, that's fine, but depending on your look you may not need it. Finally, after your mascara is dry, please wait until it is dry: put some powder on your lower eyelid. I use silica powder which is really fine and doesn't show. If you use a powder that isn't as finely milled, apply it with care. Just get it on your ring finger and pat it on the lid. Or you can use a soft round crease brush. That powder should prevent oil from getting on your lashes which should keep them from smudging.
