Product reviews of Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Review: Fun to try, but not universally flattering Beauty product: 3 Stars
I am very fair skinned and after reading all the reviews, I thought this might be a fun splurge since I'd been hearing about it for years.
Pros: Feels very nice on and my skin clarity seemed to improve (A plus, since I have very sensitive skin). I will definitely be using cheek stains in the future (verses powder blush, my former weapon of choice).
Cons: Other than the price (youch), this color does not work on my really fair skin. Because I already have red undertones to my skin, it only exaggerates them, so it looks like I am feeling a bit feverish. The color in the bottle had me worried about this, but a lot of folks and magazines over the years have said that it was great "universal" shade. This is not so. But at $28/bottle, I am freakin' using this stuff up. Will try Tarte next time, or another brand.
Review: Great Product Beauty product: 5 Stars
I love Benetint! I is very easy to use and I had never used anything other than powder blush before. It smells nice due to the rose water in it. No cheap or chemical smell. It blends easily and allows for much more control than powder. I am very pale and have no problems and I recommended it to others of different skin tones and they love it too. Start with 3 dots and rub in cheeks. If you need more use more. It will last forever.
Review: Great natural looking blush- stains fingers Beauty product: 4 Stars
I saw this in a magazine years ago and decided to splurge. I found it to be useful as a cheek and as a lip stain. On my fair skin the color mimics a natural excercise or cold weather induced flush. Much nicer color and staying power than a powder blush. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it does stain the finger(s) you use to apply it. I have tried applying with a cotton ball but fingers work better.
Review: I Would Not Have Believed It Beauty product: 5 Stars
Having light olive color skin, I am wary of things being too pink. I was planning to replace a lip/cheek stain from Vincent Longo that was a great color. However, one day last month I was waylayed one day by Benefit girls. They put some Dr. Feelgood and Benetint and I was a new woman. The pink was just right on my cheeks in that it looked completely natural. On my lips, it was exactly *the* color that I had been searching for. I had not been able to find the right tint to make my lips look a bit darker than their natural color but not garish or unnatural. It is perfect. A little lip gloss, or even balm and I am good to go. I am not a big make up person so Benetint is perfect. Plus, the with the size of the bottle, this stuff should last a good year or more.
Review: I'm impressed Beauty product: 4 Stars
I purchased it yesterday, and applied it twice so far. It is easy to blend it, though you do end up with red fingers. Its very subtle, and natural looking blush. The only drawback is that I have to layer it two-three times, because I have olive complexion. I wish they had something bit more darker, more intense for women with darker skin complexion. I wore it all day long, and was excited to see that it didn't melt away, unlike lip/cheek stain I purchased from The Body Shop. Love it, and recommend it to all.....Lose the powder when you can look glowing and beautiful all day long without reapplying!!!!
