Review: I despise lip color!

I really, really despise anything you put on your lips. I especially despise lip color. I only apply lip balm when my lips are so dry they begin to crack. This is not a good characteristic for a belly dancer. Especially an American cabaret style belly dancer. Belly dancers are supposed to like makeup. This one really, really dislikes makeup. Over the last six years of performances I've managed to find makeup I can enjoy wearing...or at least tolerate: MAC eye shadows (wow they were expensive!), mineral blushes, foundations, and finishing powders, waterproof mascara that somehow adds a lot of length to my lashes. Once I get most of this stuff on, I barely notice it's there. It also can stay on for hours. Lip color that didn't totally gross me out has eluded me. In the beginning the stuff nearly made me gag. Then I found a longer lasting lip stick that wasn't quite so bad...still...yuck. Before I can eat or drink anything I have to scrub the lipstick off-- because very few things are grosser to me than lipstick marks on glasses or skin.
After reading the reviews about Benetint, I ordered a small sample bottle. It came today and I had to give it a try. I applied it to my lips-- just one coat. I waited about a minute--it looked dry. I gingerly pressed a finger to my lip...no stickiness...not even a drop of color came off! Wow. Even better: I don't feel like I'm wearing anything! This stuff has really stained my lips! I even let my boyfriend kiss me with lips that have color on them! Then I took a bath. I washed my face with a washcloth and soapy water (same old routine) and no color came off. This stuff is good! Now, I like my lips dry. People who don't like their lips dry will probably want to add gloss. Depending on the venue I'm dancing at, I may or may not wear gloss over the Benetint. I'd probably add another coat as well just to add a bit more color and balance out the rest of the makeup. So...if you despise lip makeup as much as I do, but you need to wear it for some special occasion or performance, give this stuff a try. I'm pretty sure the tiny vial will last me a long time, but I won't hesitate buying a large bottle even at Sephora for the full price if I have to.

Blended 3 dots over my cheeks as instructed, but colour didn't show quite well.. You'll have to repeat at least 2 times to get somesort like a blush effect. Guessed it was meant to be like this? Then tried it on my lips instead.. Guys, u better wait for it to dry first before licking it, cos it can taste quite weird. You'll have to retouch benetint after food. Its waterproof, not "food-proof". Also apply some lip balm after benetint cos lips tends to look crumpled. Review: Lips and Cheeks

Benefit has got the answer to glowing cheeks and lips. Benetint stays on all day and looks so natural. I L-O-V-E it! I have been using Benetint for over 8 years and have not found anything like it! Review: Love it!

I just purchased the Benetint this past weekend and absolutely love it! I don't wear a lot of makeup, but never skip on the blush. I have been using the MAC "Raisenesque" cheek hue, but it has been discontinued, so I was desperatley trying to find a replacement.
I find that using a Q-tip (just lightly dipped in the stain) works very well for applying the tint. I also use a foundation brush to blend it, so my fingers don't get stained. I agree with the other reviews...you definitely need to blend it fast, but the MAC cheek hue was the same way, so I was used to it.
I apply a light setting powder all over, and then just a light brushing of MAC powder blush on top, just to intensify the color a bit, although it really doesn't need it. It lasts all throughout the workday, which is impressive. I wear a surgical mask everyday and my blush usually is gone by lunch. The color continues to last through my lunch workout, which is more than I can say w/ my prior blush!
I am a little concerned about taking it on vacation with me later this month though...I worry that the bottle or cap will break during the trip and ruin everything in my suitcase. I guess I'll have to use the original packaging, bubble wrap, and some ziplocs! I was thinking about purchasing the smaller version w/ the gloss, as it may be more practical for travel.
Definitely try it out at the retailer first to get an idea of what you're purchasing...although I was actually happier w/ it once I tried it at home!

I rarely use up any of my makeup, but am almost to the bottom of this bottle of benetint. Have to add though, I only use it as a blush. It doesn't work for me on the lips - probably because of my age (40+). As a blush, it looks very natural. I'll definitely buy again.
