Product reviews of Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Review: Best concealer ever! Beauty product: 5 Stars
I have been using this concealer for the past year or so, and have tried many many brands over the years but have not found anything that provides such great coverage and staying power that is non-cakey, creaseproof, and doesn't dry out my skin. Great product - you will not be disappointed. A little goes a long way, just apply by using your ring finger and gently pressing it into the skin under eyes or on discolorations.
Review: Best foundation ever! Beauty product: 5 Stars
Okay, I'll be honest, I mostly use this to cover blemishes. Nothing I've ever tried does as good a job on red spots. I use it for undereye circles as well, but the thick consistency makes it really "cling" and gives a fairly opaque coverage. Love Benefit!
Review: Concealer worth Investing In... Beauty product: 4 Stars
The Benefit line of cosmetics has really become one of my favorites. I'm more of a "less is better" type person who doesn't like to spend more than 10 minutes on make up in the morning. I'm also on a budget, and shelling out $$ for high-end cosmetics is tough for me to justify sometimes. I'm fortunate enough to have a Sephora in my neck of the woods where I can try things out to see how I like them. I can definitely say that I LOVE this concealer. I originally purchased the Benefit Cosmetics Big Beautiful Eyes, which has Boi-ing 02 in it. I really liked it a lot. A little goes a LONG way. It's thick consistency offers full, lasting coverage. It goes on best with a light pat of the finger tip or with a concealer brush. I recently purchased Boi-ing individually, and I'll be interested to see how long it'll last me.
Review: Could be a LOT better. Beauty product: 2 Stars
I had heard that this stuff works miracles, so when the girl at Sephora recommended it to me to cover my dark under-eye circles I went for it. I tried it on in the store and it seemed to work, but I already had a bunch of other concealers on so it was hard to tell.
After wearing it a few times I noticed that the color was too orange for my skin tone and even under the proper color powder it looked terrible. The "Light" color was WAY too light, so there was really no happy medium (no pun intended). Even after applying it, from a thin layer to caking it on, the dark circles were STILL there. I mean, I'm Italian and all but this stuff is supposed to cover it up!
Plus the makeup itself is just not a good consistency. If it's the slightest bit cold (which it has been because it's winter right now) it becomes cakey and really hard to apply. If it's in even a slightly warm place, then it starts "sweating" and becomes too thin and greasy. After an hour or so of wear it works its way into all the creases in your skin and makes your skin look super dry and it makes you tired and aged.
I plan on returning this ASAP and trying the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Radiant Touch. That's supposedly THE BEST of under-eye concealers, and even though it's $39 I'd rather pay more for a product that actually works.
Review: Could not believe my eyes! Beauty product: 5 Stars
Fact: I've had dark circles under my eyes since college. I've literally spent hundreds of dollars (maybe thousands) in the last decade trying everything from Maybelline to Lancome to Clinique (and really did like the Airbrush Concealer) and finally Mary Kay. Up until 2 days ago, the MK concealer (light ivory) had done the best for me - no creasing, easy to apply, etc.
Problem: After 3 hours, my eyes began to look like one who doesn't get enough sleep and doesn't drink enough water. Ok, so maybe that's true. I don't get enough sleep and I don't drink enough water, but that's a topic for a blog, not a review. No concealer I'd found really did the trick of CONCEALING. Concealing the dark is not easy.
Solution: Boi-ing by Benefit in light. Excellent is an understatement. Let me just say, I applied it this morning before 8 am, had an all-day teacher's meeting in a stuffy room of long-winded speakers, then went to aerobics. After working out, I checked my makeup just to see how tired I looked (because boy, I sure felt it). SURPRISE! Even after all the humidity, heat, and sweat, my eyes were still bright. No, I'm not lying...it's all true!
BRAVO! I'm anxious to sample other products by Benefit!
