Review: The Best Shave Cream Ever
Beauty product: 5 Stars

This product is as great as it sounds. It is also extra-great in combination with the warming hot towel treatment. I have no idea how it works, but it is both extremely comrotable, and has resulted in my closest shaves ever!

Review: The best I've ever used
Beauty product: 5 Stars

This is without a doubt the best shave cream I've ever used. I've tried tons of things over the years. Shaving my cheeks is never a problem. I've always had problems with my neck. If I went with the grain, I wouldn't get a clean shave. If I went against the grain, I'd bleed like crazy.

Problems are gone with this stuff. It seems expensive but a little goes a long way. I use this with a Mach 3 Power razor (the one with the AAA battery) and get the best shave I've ever had. Shave after a hot shower and I get a great shave without any nicks or bleeding. It's amazing.

I'd highly recommend this.

Review: The best shaving lubricant I've ever used.
Beauty product: 5 Stars

Billy Jealousy's Hydroplane shave cream is a lotion-style shave cream (ie. it doesn't foam when applied to your skin). According to the packaging, it's made up of millions of "micro sillicone beads". It does have a slightly gritty feel to it (though nothing at all uncomfortable), which makes the "sillicone bead" description sound reasonable.

Applying Hydroplane is pretty simple: just rub it into your skin after you've thoroughly moistened it with water, then shave normally. Hydroplane is persistent, so it won't dry up like some shaving lubricants, and it doesn't require any additional water after it's been applied. It'll easily last through your entire shave.

Lubrication, irritation protection, and nick protection are all excellent. Hydroplane washes out of your blade very easily, too, with one of the lowest gunk factors I've experienced in a shaving lubricant. As shaving lubricants go, I can find no fault with this one.

Hydroplane is a premium product in every sense of the word. A 236ml (8 ounce) bottle retails for $20 from the Billy Jealousy website (at this writing). The bottle's a good size, and it'll last a while (you only need a small amount for each shave), but it's still very expensive.

Overall, Billy Jealousy's Hydroplane shave cream may be the best shaving lubricant I've ever used (and I've used dozens of them over the years). It's expensive, but it's worth the price, in my opinion. If you're looking for a very close, comfortable shave with no irritation, Hydroplane is very much worth trying out. I am impressed.

Review: The closest thing to "the perfect shave"!!
Beauty product: 5 Stars

I've always been riddled with terrible razor burn, and i've tried 5-6 other brands of shaving gel and cream until stumbling upon this. It is uniquely amazing. It's thick and very smooth in texture, and assuming you're shaving with the grain (down) as you should be, you won't even feel the blade. I have acne prone skin and was worried about using this, but I rinse it off very well with cold water after and I have no issues. Followed with Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice after shave, I can't possibly think of a better shaving system...I honestly forget that I even shaved! This can also be used as lubricant underneath a layer of your current shaving cream, that's how I transitioned into this product and it worked well!

Review: This shave cream is mediocre, at best.
Beauty product: 2 Stars

I bought this product, based on the recommendation of a few reviews, when I bought my Panasonic ES8243A Arc IV Nano Men's Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver on Amazon. It does no better than Gillette's gel foam and costs five times more. The bottle is made of such thick plastic that it is very difficult to squeeze even a "quarter size" blob into your hand. Stick with your grocery store favorite, Billy J. is no improvement.
