It works waaay better than the crappy "hard hair" gel I've used pretty much my entire life. You really don't need much of it to get about a thick head of hair to cooperate with you. I use about the same, if not less, than I use toothpaste. It's not sticky and you don't get all the flakes that you do with LA Looks-esque products. The only thing I can complain about is that the smell is a little weird, but you can't notice it if you use as little as I do.
