Review: Disappointed Afer Having High Hopes

I, too, am a cake eyeliner fan. I've tried many different brands and had been using Benefit Babe Cakes for years, until they recently discontinued the product. I ordered Ben Nye's cake eyeliner in Black based on the reviews and have to say am a bit disappointed. I always line the inner bottom rims and noticed immediately that this eyeliner starts to flake, leaving gooey deposits and black stringy things (sorry for being gross)inside the corners of my eye. I wound up lining the rims 3 times, one after the other, to get a good thick line. It did last for a few hours, but needed to reapply frequently during the day, as it smudged in certain places. I will continue to use the product, but just found my Babe Cakes on Bloomingdales.com and will stock up on that. Otherwise I might have to go back to being old school by using an eyeliner pencil and lighting it with a cigarette lighter for a smoother, thick line like we did back in the day.

Update: I changed my stars from 3 to 2 after wearing this eyeliner for a week because not only does it flake and smudge, but I've been cleaning out black goop from the inside of my eyes every morning (even after removing it at night). It just does not work for people who line the inner bottom rim of their eyes (and it burns).
