As a new customer of Caswell-Massey I have yet to be disapointed. I really enjoy using their high quality, wonderful smelling, and very useful products in my morning shave routine. I think that my time with Caswell-Massey products contributes more to my day than breakfast.
I am new to straight razor shaving, but I find the regiment of hot towel, Musgo Real Gycerine Lime soap, followed by the "1752" products very invigorating. At first I preferred the Almond, but the Sandalwood has grown on me and is now my stand out favorite. I love the way it leaves my Silver Tip Badger Brush smelling.
The shaving oil is the one piece of the shaving equation that many men choose to leave out, as you can make due without it I only gave it four stars, but if you use shave oil this would be a must have. While it may be dispensible, I do find that it makes my shaves better. It is not a viscus product as I suspected "oil" to be, but it absolutely helps on problem areas. It both helps prevent and treat burns from shaving too hard or making too many passes, both symptoms of inexperience and a dull blade.
I actually use the almond oil as a preshave and the sandalwood as a post shave oil before my last step of the sandalwood balm. It leaves my skin looking healthy and smelling great. It only took 2 weeks, but I don't feel ready for a good day without my straight razor shave with 1752 products.
I absolutely recommend 1752 products, better than anything in the grocery or drug stores. Caswell-Massey puts shaving on a whole new level and really takes the drudgery out of a daily task, turning it into a manly ritual.

Caswell-Massey 1752 Preshave Oil is a full-bodied blend of moisturizing natural oils (Olive, Castor & Sweet Almond) and extracts that prepare the beard for shaving, and help to protect against razor burn and ingrown hairs. Ideal for sensitive skin. The lightweight formula provides a thin, lubricating layer to hold in moisture so the blade can glide easily through your whiskers. Chamomile Oil soothes the skin and Rosemary and Sage Oil provide a mild antiseptic.Fragrance Family - floral, fruity citrus.
