Review: Gentle but greasy

Chanel Precision Gentle Eye Make Up Remover does remove eye make up well, but it coats the eyelashes with a greasy substance so that mascara will not stick. I tried both Almay waterproof (drugstore item)and Helena Rubenstein (department store item) mascara immediately after using it and both mascaras slid off my eyelashes after using this product before hand. You have to rinse your eyes off with water after using this and THEN apply your mascara. So, what a waste of money.
TIP: since, after using this product you have to wash your eyelashes with water anyway, you may as well save yourself the approximately $35 - $50 dollars, and apply about a tablespoon of Cetaphil on a wet but thoroughly wrung out, wash cloth and then dip one finger into it. Then apply to your eyelashes.
I use the small, skinny white wash cloths. I use these ONLY for my face. You can bleach them in the washing machine. They are usually available very cheap at Target and probably Walmart and some supermarkets). After dipping one finger into Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, you can more easily scrub the mascara off, followed by rinsing with water.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser takes the mascara off just as thoroughly and gently (doesn't sting),and leaves no greasy film. You can use it to wash your face immediately following your eyes also, as that is what it is supposed to be for, and it only cost approximately $10.00! It comes in a huge bottle at most drugstores and some supermarkets. Make sure you get the "Gentle Skin Cleanser" one. It works beautifully, lasts longer, and your mascara will not fall off right after using it!
By the way if your hands get chapped, use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash your hands also, EVERTIME you wash your hands, followed by Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion also, and they will heal them in a matter of days!
