Natural Instincts was my favorite hair coloring some years ago. It and I have gone through a multitude of changes. In terms of myself, clearly as we get older we favor slightly different coloring. Because Natural Instincts often changed its coloring scheme -- grrr! -- and my superstore has altered what is available on the shelf, I was never sure what I was getting. I tried communicating with the manufacturer several times. One lucky day, I was able to contact Clairol and asked the important question: CAN YOU MIX COLORS? -- YES, YOU CAN, was their answer. So, I was on a mission and, finally, was able to find the perfect colors to mix. That kept me happy for a few years.
Then, Natural Instincts all but disappeared from the shelves. I changed my brand to Herbashine and rather liked it. Then, my Herbashine color disappeared from the shelves and I was forced to find another brand. Back to Natural Instincts!
Now Natural Instincts has a whole new kit: some include liquid color, others paste. Obviously, you cannot easily blend colors. Their routine touchup/s are different and just awful. There is a mid-cycle touchup that will change your hair color for one day to YELLOW -- DON'T PLAN TO GO OUT ANYWHERE!!!! Also, the color depicted on the box is many shades off -- AND, the color does not hold for even 2 days.
Needless to say, I'm totally frustrated with home-managed temporary hair coloring. If I didn't know better, this is plot to get people into a hairdresser -- which I generally avoid due to the cost.
