Review: Didn't work for my oily skin
Beauty product: 3 Stars

I have a generous trial tube of this stuff and it doesn't work for me. On the back of the tube it says "For dry skin". My forehead, temples, and the sides of my nose get oily throughout the day and using this all over my face as a daily moisturizer made me REALLY oily after about 3 hours or less.

Sometimes I just use this for dry areas on my skin when I need to (cheeks, corners of mouth, lash line). Strangely, it makes those areas oily too so I just end up with an oily face, which doesn't happen with my Olay facial moisturizer for sensitive skin (loads cheaper I might add).

One other nitpick - this smells strangely. I have tried unscented lotions by Olay, Eucerin, and Vaseline and they don't smell as strong and plastic-y as this does.
This also has a similar smell as the Vaseline "intensive rescue moisture locking lotion unfragranced", which is thicker and white. I'm not saying these are the same, one's for face and the other's for body obviously, but they have the same effect of making my face oily so if the Vaseline brand lotion aforementioned makes your face very oily, the Clinique stuff won't work either, I think.

Review: Great
Beauty product: 5 Stars

I was a little worried with the review that stated the customer received the smaller size-- nope--I got the 4.2oz Pump (just as pictured!). Love this lotion!

Review: WONDERFUL!
Beauty product: 5 Stars

I have to say that this is the first facial moisturizer that I have ever found to work for me! I have pale white skin, and therefore, anything with aloe or extra inserts as far as facial lotion goes makes my skin turn burning red. I do not believe that this has to be used with their 3 step line, because I tried their toner, and it made my skin over- dry and rashed. Their facial cleanser, I just didn't even bother with. This could truly work on its own as a facial moisturizer and you don't need to buy the other half of the kit for another $40+. Of course, everyone's skin is different, so no, what works for me might not work for you. This is great if you have normal skin, not dry or not oily, just the right touch of both. It doesn't have any extras, and it does what it is supposed to, it makes your skin moisturized. For me, it is perfect and my skin soaks it up after ten minutes and leaves it soft. You know that a moisturizer doesn't work for you if you can scrape it off your face after an hour, which many others did for me. I do recommend buying Clinique's facial sunscreen for going outside! It does wonders for me, since this doesn't contain spf in it.

Review: Good but not outstanding
Beauty product: 3 Stars

I've found that while this is a reasonably good moisturizing lotion, it's not exceptional. This kept my skin moisturized enough during warmer weather, but come the winter it wasn't at all intensive enough to handle winter-dry skin. This is a really good multi-purpose lotion, but if your skin has a specific need, you'll probably need to go with something else. I have found a little tube of this to be very handy for travel, becuase it does work in a lot of situations, and in the short term.

Review: Good but Superdefense is Better
Beauty product: 3 Stars

I really recommend the Superdefense instead. Theoretically you can use both, but why? The Superdefense has SPF 25 and goes on really nicely. But maybe it's down to personal preference.
