This hair straightener works really well, and it only takes about 3 minutes to heat up. My hair is naturally really wavy, and for the price, this does a really great job of straightening it. Review: A Happy Fifteen Year Old

The fifteen year old girl to whom I gave the Conair straightener has hair that reaches her lower back, and it curls tightly. She has yearned for years for a straightener that would not damage her hair and allow her to wear it in styles hitherto impossible. The ceramic straightener did all that and more. It was easy to use and has made her very happy. (The styles the hair straightener has made possible also make her appear more mature.) It was her favorite Christmas gift. Trust me on this one. Especially for $20. When I bought mine almost 10 months ago, it was more and was still a bargain! It was my 2nd straightener. My 1st one would catch my hair (OUCH!) and it was very small, so it took forever and took many times over the same spot to see improvement.
Then at a video shoot I was in, my roommate took this one out and started to straighten her incredibly curly, kinky hair with ease. I asked her if I could try it and ended up using that one! LOL! I threw mine out and that weekend ordered mine! I LOVE IT. And, its very durable. I have dropped it a few times (ooops) and its still going strong.
If you dont think it straightens the way you want, let it heat up another min. and don't be afraid to up the setting either. Its safer to use a higher setting on your hair once, then go over one spot many times.
I am so confident you will love this product. It made this stay at home mom of 2 toddlers on the go feel wonderful quickly and easily!!!!

I have thick, long hair with a wave in it. I've tried just about everything to straighten it (and I don't care how good you are with a brush; straightening your hair with a blow dryer is impossible.)
This thing WORKS. Wow! Heats up fast, glides through your hair like a dream, and the result is impossibly shiny, stick-straight hair!
I can't recommend this highly enough, esp. for the price. A true bargain!

I have long, fine hair with a natural wive that turns frizzy after washing. After ages of fighting for a straight look by blow-drying it straight (and never getting the desired result), I finally saw the light and got this straightener. It works great! Fabulous.
