I got this flat iron because I really wanted one with skulls and that goes up to 450 degrees. I would say it is comparable to a hot tools and they suck! I would not get this brand again and would not reccomend it to a coworker or friend. Luckly I bought it to use at home cause I would not want to use it on a client. It catches on the hair and you have to go over the hair several times even at the highest setting to get it straight and don't think about trying to get it to do flat iron curls. If you have short, fine and thin hair you may have a different opinion about this iron. Do not get if you have long, thick, and curly hair.
