Product reviews of Dr. Bronner's & All-One Organic Lotion for Hands & Body, Lavender Coconut, 8-Ounce Pump Bottles (Pack of 2)

Review: The Cream for People who Don't Need Cream - or a nice scent!
Beauty product: 1 Stars

This is easily the worst hand cream I have ever used. We are BIG fans of Dr. Bronner's soaps, and go out of our way to find them (it's not always easy here). They are pure, smell good, and rinse super-clean. They're also the only thing I use on my little kids' bodies and hair.

So when I was looking for a hand/body lotion and saw that Dr. Bronner's made one, I jumped at the chance to buy it online. I also thought coconut-lavender sounded like an intriguing combination; certainly, I like both scents individually.

WELL. Just goes to show you - some things must be bought in person so you can find out quickly and for free that they simply do not work.

Other reviewers have said this cream is light and absorbs well. True! But along with that comes little or no ability to moisturize skin. I have used many brands of lotion, enough to know that the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive: I've used light creams that do moisturize; Dr. Bronner's simply does not.

So if you don't NEED cream to keep your skin moist, go ahead and try this one!

Oh, but not if you want a nice scent. The coconut-lavender combination, in my opinion, simply does not work. It may be natural, but ends up smelling more chemically and artificial than some of the commercial brands of hand lotion I've tried. It is a harsh, cloying odour that smells like something you'd use to scrub a toilet.

I realize that's a matter of taste (though my 13-year-old daughter largely agrees and says she hates this cream). Some people may find the combination of coconut and lavender simply divine. Not me. Not us.

As far as I'm concerned, this lotion is simply awful; a waste of money. I replaced it with a bottle of Neutrogena Norwegian Formula (which cost less) and am now reasonably happy with the state, and smell, of my skin.

Review: This lotion was my favorite until I found ...
Beauty product: 4 Stars

I really did like this product a great deal until I discovered it could be linked to cancer and organ system toxicity, according to Skin Deep Safety Cosmetic Database. With my research, I discovered just how toxic most of what I was putting on my skin really was! I am now using face naturals and they are completely natural and organic and receive the best score on Skin Deep Safety Cosmetic Database. [...]

Review: Very Good Moisturizer
Beauty product: 4 Stars

I like this moisturizer for the price, high quality ingredients and light lavendar scent. My only complaint is that it could be more moisturizing, but it is worth purchasing in bulk (three bottle packaging) for the price. I add a bit of Aura Cacia Jojobia Organic oil and then it is perfect for me and still not as expensive as other high priced/high quality creams.

Review: absorbs quickly, light scent, good moisture
Beauty product: 4 Stars

This is a great lotion, lightweight so no greasy skin after putting it on. Absorbs quickly. Has a nice light scent which is lovely while you're applying the lotion and then you don't really smell anymore after your skin absorbs it. I have normal skin and this is plenty moisturizing for me.
