Review: Nice soap - but block is impossibly large...

I love Savon de Marseille - bought it all the time while I was living in France. High quality soap, and smells wonderful. My husband won't use anything else to shave. However, in France it comes in nice soap sized bars that are normal and easy to wash with. This "cube" is good quality soap, but too big for someone with normal sized hands to handle easily. I need two hands to hang onto it properly, which isn't ideal when you're in the shower! Wish they offered the soap in normal sized bars! Review: Perfection in a soap!

I've not tried the palm oil soap but have been using the same manufacturer's olive oil soap which also comes in a square block. They make these in three sizes, 300, 600, and 1000 grams bars. Obviously like everything else, the largest size is the most economical but the square sizes are unusual shapes. Since I buy the 1000 gram bar which measures 4" by 4" by 4", I slice it up into four slices than split each slice in half to fit on the soap dishes. Its very easy to do, I use my boner kitchen knife. My 80 yr old mother does the same thing with her bars. Hope this helps! enjoy your soap, I know the olive oil one is fantastic.

I'm not a fan of heavily scented mainstream soaps that are chock- full of detergents and gross chemicals. This soap is mild- smelling, creates a really nice lather, and moisturizes lightly, still making you feel really clean. My boyfriend used Irish Spring or something along those lines for years, but he actually noticed that his skin was significantly softer and less itchy after using my soap. I have spent many hours looking for a really good unscented soap that feels good on the skin and doesn't irritate the skin with added ingredients I don't want or need and also it is imperative that it not stink of fragrance. This wonderful soap meets all 3 requirements. I'll never quit using this and hope that this company never quits supplying this - I'd be lost without this.
