Review: Absolutely...AMAZING!!

I always knew the CHI flat iron was amazing but was hesitant to pay so much money to get one. After seeing the results several friends got w/ theirs thought, I just had to try it out for myself so I decided to order one. I searched several places and Amazon had the best price. I ordered it and received it 2 days before the scheduled delivery date. I have had it about 3 weeks and I have to say the results are amazing. Right before I got it, I got highlights and noticed that my hair would just be a frizzy mess even after spending so much time blow drying and ironing...w/ the CHI though i saw a huge difference the first time i used it. My hair is soft, shiny and super straight...the best thing is that it takes me less time to straighten. Another plus...I have been caught outside when it begins to lightly rain and my hair doesn't poof or frizz up. I also love love love that it gets hot in less than 10 seconds...but beware of touching the plates...i accidentally bumped my finger into it and got a blister right away. i don't mind that it doesn't have a temperature control b/c either ways i always put it really high...just use a good heat protector for hair. To make a long story short...let me just say that if i ever brake this iron...I am definitely buying another one. Review: Actually does what it claims

I don't leave a lot of reviews - only if something *really* impresses me or if an item is so bad that I want to save other people from wasting their money. The CHI iron definitely falls into that first category -- it's nothing short of miraculous.
I've wasted SO much money, over the years, on tools and products to straighten my hair (which is wavy, but not quite curly, coarse, and frizzy) and nothing has ever actually worked before. I've even considered having a Japanese straight perm done but it's an expensive and lengthy process and I'm not crazy about the hours-long exposure to chemicals. But in less than five minutes, the CHI iron gave me hair that *looked* like I'd had a Japanese straight perm.
I even gave it a VERY tough test -- I washed my hair and went to bed with it wet, so that the next morning, the waves and frizz were really 'set' in (think Hagrid, from the Harry Potter movies, seriously. Remember what his hair looks like? That's what I was starting from.) I started using the CHI after only letting it heat 30 seconds, and in under five minutes, I had silky soft, smooth, board-straight hair. Even stranger, as my hair cooled off it seemed to get even straighter and silkier -- I have no idea how or why that is, but that's how it worked for me. Hours later, my hair was still just as straight and silky and I feel like this purchase was worth every single penny. A+++

I LOVE this thing. I'm a black female who had to stop using conventional relaxers 5 years ago. I had been searching for a method to straighten my hair. I tried regular hotcombs, electric hotcombs and all types of flat irons. After years of failure, I went to a beautician who used the CHI on my hair and I was sold. I ordered one from Amazon. I know another black woman left a comment that it left her hair frizzy - NOT if you apply pressing oil (like Bergamot) to your hair first. I sometimes use PHYTO botanical hair relaxing balm after I wash it, but even when I don't use that, the CHI still gets my hair silky straight. I don't blow dry my hair anymore - I wash it, braid it, let it air dry then section it off, put a little Bergamot on each section from the root to the ends, then flat iron it. I can get it done in less than 30 minutes! It's never looked this good before. A co-worker and a woman in my building told me they didn't even recognize me - that's how much better my hair looks now after using the CHI. I am so completely happy with this, after searching for over 5 years. I hope they never stop making it.
