Product reviews of Final Seal 1oz. Review: Shipping & Application a Big Hassle, but Product Itself is Good Beauty product: 4 StarsThe product itself is good. I have only used it twice, and I'm not entirely sure that I can form an opinion after just two uses - especially for a first time Final Seal user. I believe it takes some practice and some may have to get used to it. But so far, so good.
I bought the generous 8 ounce bottle. It is an alcohol-based liquid that is a bluish color. I applied Final Seal to my lids, and it did tingle significantly. Still, the sensation was brief and bearable.
I am still experimenting with the application of Final Seal. My bottle of Final Seal did not come in a spray bottle as I assumed it would. Instead, it came in a plain plastic bottle. I had to go out and buy my own spray bottle, and when I got it home, I found that the spray bottle sprayed more of a solid, squirted stream. What I need is a mist!
In my most recent attempts, I have poured Final Seal into the "spray" bottle. From there, I sprayed a few streams of Final Seal onto a cotton ball, and gently blotted the saturated cotton ball over my entire face. Unfortunately, in doing so, the cotton ball actually picked up a little bit of the makeup I had just finished applying. Not good! I cannot simply squirt streams of Final Seal all over my face. That would create a dripping mess. As it turns out, I actually need a "pump" spray bottle or an "atomizer" spray bottle, not a "trigger" spray bottle. The inferior packaging of this product is one drawback of an otherwise good product.
Another drawback is Final Seal's finished texture on the eyelids. Once it dries, I have found that it creates bits of visible, crackled spots. I use a high-end, velvety eyeshadow, and Final Seal tends to create dried-up looking spots. It's possible however, that this problem is due to the wrong kind of spray bottle.
The last drawback is the shipping method. I believe I purchased Final Seal from a vendor called "The Makeup Artist." If I remember correctly, their shipping method is USPS. When my package arrived, I was not available to answer the door. But they didn't just leave the package at my door. Instead, they left a slip in my door. After a lot of hassle, I managed to arrange for redelivery. Then, the next day, even though I was sick, I had to get up and get ready so I could sign for it. And no one knew what particular time the package would arrive . . . I just had to be ready ahead of time. If I didn't answer my door and sign for the package, I wouldn't receive it. I've ordered many products online many times before and I've never experienced shipping problems at all. They should have allowed me to specify my preferences if I did not answer the door. I'm not entirely sure who was to blame here, but it was quite inconvenient.
Final Verdict:
-- Overall, it's a good product
-- Ask about shipping options
-- You'll need a "pump"/"atomizer" spray bottle, NOT a "trigger" spray bottle.
-- Practice makes perfect
-- Start out buy purchasing a smaller sized bottle of Final Seal so you can learn if Final Seal is right for you.
Description of Final Seal 1oz.Apply over any completed makeup for a smudge and water-resistant finish. Final Seal keeps makeup in place even on performers who perspire heavily. Add to Liqui Paints (about 10%) for greater durability. Airbrush artist, Mark Frazier, used Final Seal as a base coat before airbrushing "Patriot" with MagiColor Liquid Paint. Take precaution around the eye area and on sensitive skin. Remove with Hydra Cleanse. Mint fragrance.
