Review: Wonderful makeup, but takes some know how

About Bare Minerals makeup in general: Coverage is great, though application is a little messy and takes getting used to. The "Swirl, tap, buff." instruction chant is cheesy, but for best results, follow it carefully. Tapping the brush makes excess foundation fall off the brush rather than cake onto your skin, or drop all over the place when the brush contacts your skin. Buffing the minerals thoroughly works the foundation onto your skin, making it look more natural.
After getting used to putting this stuff on, I'll never go back to liquid. Bare Minerals foundation works wonderfully when put on as instructed, and followed with the mineral veil. It looks more natural than liquid foundation and doesn't rub off my face, or get cake-y looking after a long day.
I use the concealer brush with regular foundation as my concealer and it works well. If you need serious concealer coverage add a tiny amount of water to a small amount of foundation to form a semi wet concealer. It's a nice trick, but usually normal dry application is sufficient.
About this starter kit in particular: The brushes in this kit are unfortunately of mediocre quality, hence my 4 stars. They aren't horrible, but bristles regularly fall out of mine, which is >1 month old. Also, I'm not a bit afraid of color, but the "Warmth" in this kit is Oompa Loompa orange. If you have light to medium skin, it may be too much.
The kit price is still a steal if you're just getting started, but if your finicky about brushes and want a good bronzer you might be better off investing in each item separately.
