Review: Good dryer, too much gimmick

The concept of conditioning while drying is interesting, but unless you want to/know how to use the comb, it serves no useful purpose. While I initially thought it effectively blew conditioning through your hair by the use of heat, that's actually not the case. That's okay, though. My main reason for purchasing this hair dryer was cord length. It is "professional" length which allows more freedom of movement. Plus, It's a sleek looking appliance.
Aside from that, I have a few nits to pick. The controls are small rocker switches instead of larger slide switches I'm used to with my hair dryer. They're stiff enough that I don't change them accidentally. Another thing is the difference between low and high air is minimal. Compared to my old, dearly departed, Wahl Complement on which "low" meant "low," this isn't very low. I understand why this is, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. With separate heat and speed controls I understand it is a safety thing (too many people try to used high heat and low speed and it overheats and goes boom) and it was a trade-off for the flexibility.
The folding handle is convenient for packing, but I noticed that as soon as I folded it the first time, there was a little bit of a wobble at the joint now, and I'm concerned this will increase as I continue to fold it. I'll keep you posted. The hands-free ability that goes with the folding is another gimmicky thing I have yet to see much use for. Again, I only needed the cord, and I have confidence in the Wahl line. The old Wahl hair dryer lasted over 8 years. If I could choose, I'd forgo the conditioner gimmick for attachments, like a diffuser, but that's just me. Overall it works just fine and I'm happy with it. It's fast, reduces frizz, and doesn't shoot flames like my old one did the moment it died. That's only a good thing.
UPDATE: I'm not liking this so much anymore. Here's why: (1) See that little green decoration on the left side? It's *only* on that side. It's there because the silver plastic gets scuffed up and tacky looking after you lay the hair dryer on the counter a few times. It took me a little while to figure this out. They put that green thing there so you can lay the hair dryer down on at least one side and not have it look all banged up. Unfortunately, being too cheap to put it on both sides, they don't tell you that's what it's for. You have to figure it out on your own, and by then it's too late. (2) I seem to occasionally hit the switches with my brush while styling my hair. They are actually a little difficult to adjust intentionally, but accidentally, no problem. A knock with the brush will shut it off or change your heat setting. I think slide switches would have been a smarter choice. (3) There is no way to open the back and clean it out. Most hair dryers allow you to clean the air intake. Not this one. (4) It pulls hair. While it looks nice and stylish, the clear plastic and white plastic parts where they meet the barrel do not fit tight enough to prevent getting your hair caught in it. (5) Yes, as I mentioned in my initial review, the head starts to wobble the more times you fold it. Just FYI.
