This is a great mirror. I was looking for a bright, big mirror with different settings and this is it! Easy to use, mirrors show a lot, magnify mirror is perfect, lightweight, folds up for easy travel.. Love it! One of the best vanity mirrors out there. And the best price too! I have purchase other brands of makeup mirrors in the past, but this Jerdon mirror has proved to be the best. Others lasted (the lighting was always a problem) 6 months or less, the last Jerdon I purchased before this one lasted 2 years, of using it every day. The only problem was the switch, which I see that Jerdon has improved on this model. I am very pleased with Jerdon's overall quality and performance. Review: Better than Most Mirrors

Ordered this mirror and for the first day or so did not think I would keep it. The magnification is 5X and does give one a good view of one's face (wrinkles and all) but find that fact that one has to sit so close to get a clear view disconcerting. Also don't care for the different light settings as none seem to be very realistic. All and all it is a good mirror and appears well made (I followed intructions with regard to holding the light switch down for full illumination) and have had no problems thus far. Preferred my older Hartman makeup mirror with the built in clock (handy for the am rush) but think this is an acceptable substitute and in some ways better (can see close up well which helps a lot with tweezing, etc. Would probably purchase again Review: Birthday Dud

The mirror looked fine but the light switch wouldn't even turn on.
Very disappointed as this was sent as a birthday gift and had to be returned. I would not try this brand again - it didn't even rate 1 star. The only good part of the whole deal was Amazon's painless return policy and process.
Review: Bright but a bit distorted

This mirror is very similar to the Windmere unit that I had for about 10 years and loved until it wouldn't turn on any more. The lighting on the Jerdon is clean and bright and the overall design is good. However, the quality of the mirrors is such that the reflection is distorted, especially on the magnified side. I'm not talking about the distortion that the magnification naturally creates. Unlike the magnification distortion, my eyes take a few moments to adjust to this distortion (sort of like putting on someone else's prescription eyeglasses). This is likely due to the reflective surface being of a lesser optical quality. So far it's the the best I've found without spending big bucks, but perhaps that's why some other mirrors are more expensive.
7/3/10 UPDATE. I have found the distortion the mirror causes to be too irritating. Also, the lights are taking longer and longer to turn on. I will be looking for a different mirror soon.
