Product reviews of Jerdon Classic JGL9W Lighted Tri-fold Mirror, 5x Magnification Review: Dangerous Product Beauty product: 1 Stars
I am very disappointed in this purchase. I got it in Nov and after using it for 2 months, it started tripping the circuit breaker. I can no longer turn it on with an electrical problem. Amazon only takes Christmas returns for items purchased after Nov 1 and I purchased Oct 29. So now I'm stuck with an item I can't use. Save your money and buy something else.
Review: Defective+ Beauty product: 2 Stars
This item came to be defective in that only three of the four settings worked; the "day" setting would not. Also, the back of the item has a long plastic piece that you use to place the item up or tilted back. This negates the ability to push the mirror back on the dresser; it sticks way out.
Review: Definitely recommend this mirror Beauty product: 4 Stars
I've been using this mirror for ten to fifteen years. Recently, the bulbs went out and I discovered that there's no easy way to replace them, so it seemed worth it to just buy a new mirror. Actually, this one is a little bit better. I think that lighting technology has changed a bit since I last bought it and the lever that changes the lighting is smoother. My last one became very difficult to move and it eventually broke off every time I tried to move it.
All in all, the option to change the lighting is fantastic and it gives off plenty of light to be able to do my makeup in low light situations. I'm hoping it will last another ten to fifteen years, this is well worth the money.
Review: Definitely worth taking the time to use properly! Beauty product: 5 Stars
I have been using a mirror such as this one since I got handed-down my grandmother's old Clairol model in my teens. From the 5 or 6 models I have owned (all manner of brands and price ranges) this one is by far the best. It is brighter, and manages to reduces the "dark spots" that are so common in mirrors like this one.
The reviewer previous, who stated that the trick is in holding the "on" button, was exactly correct. I can see where less-patient souls may claim that the bulbs are burnt out or that the appliance is defective. More than likely, it is an operator error.
The mirror is sturdy and the adjustable angles are very helpful for using on various surfaces, such as when traveling. I will definitely look for this brand IF this mirror ever needs to be replaced.
Review: Disappointed Beauty product: 2 Stars
I was setting up the mirror to put on my makeup and the piece that holds the stand up broke off into pieces so now I have to prop the mirror up in order to see into it. I think the material is very cheap. This should not have happened. Now I have to go and research another mirror other than this one!
