Review: Tattoo Cover Up

I didn't buy this product for a tatoo but I figured a dark birthmark was the same sort of problem area... so I bought it. This particular birthmark is about the size of a quarter, burgundy colored, and right on the front right-side of my neck where one normally gets a "hickey". As a matter of fact, most people think it IS a hickey. I've had to tolerate the humiliation of this for 48 years.
So...being a fan of LA Ink, and seeing the episode of Cat having her tats covered for a photo shoot, I figured I'd give the product a shot. Well, I'm sorry to report that it didn't do the job. Maybe a darker shade would have performed better. The fact remains, the makeup IS noticeable on the skin and unless the shade blends perfectly, I don't don't know what stands out more...the makeup or the actual birthmark. I'm about ready to pursue a tatoo over the birthmark in a flesh color just to make it less noticeable.
For years, I didn't really care about it because I've had it my entire life...until I overheard some catty female co-workers talking about the sucker bite on my neck. When you're in your late 30s and people don't know you, and what they are really talking about, it's a little embarrassing and annoying. Just think what everyone thought when I was a youth????
If anyone knows of another product that can cover a birthmark this size, PLEASE let me know. Oh...and regular makeup doesn't cut it because of the location of the birthmark and I don't have a long neck, the cover-up rubs off on my clothing and ruins it. Whatever is recommended can't rub off onto clothing. Oh the problems we have as women....
