Review: Old? Or just a bad product for my skin

This product smelled bad, and the type on the tube was faded. I'm not sure if it was past the use date or just normally smells like this. I use other Kinerase products, and they're unscented.
It also caused acne - I'm 48 years old and not prone to any type of breakout. I developed two boil-like lesions, not even in the T-zone; one on my cheekbone, the other next to my mouth.
