I love/hate this product. I love it for the protection. I hate it for the way it makes my skin feel when it's on.
I used this product when I lived in Canada and could get the formulation with Mexoryl at any drugstore. (Why this ingredient is not approved by the FDA for use here is beyond me.)
The protection is very good. I think this is the best sunscreen on the market in terms of good UVA protection. For as long as L'Oreal/La Roche Posay does not license the patent on their Mexoryl, this is it.
My problem is with the lotion itself. I've tried nearly all of the La Roche Posay and L'Oreal sunscreens with Mexoryl (in Canada) that are on the market. I can't say I really liked any of them in terms of feel.
This stuff is thick and somewhat sticky. Because it uses Titanium Dioxide as one of its sunscreen components, "white face" is difficult to avoid. I mix it with a little bit of foundation to color it. That helps but doesn't change the fact that I've got thick, sticky stuff on my face - the price of good UVA protection apparently.
