Review: Great smell, but it didn't work for me

I've been trying various "healthy" deodorants over the last year or so, and I was really excited when I read all the positive reviews for this one. It smells really nice, feels very good on my skin... but doesn't help me not to smell sweaty. I can sniff and smell myself under the fragrance of the product, which kinda defeats the purpose. This is like most other natural products - what works for some people doesn't work for all people. I'm very disappointed since my hopes were high on this one. Review: Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit

I bought the Vanilla Grapefruit version with very high hopes. It smells wonderful in its container, not a sweet smell, but more earthy and natural than most vanilla-scented products. Disappointingly, I have not had much luck once I apply it. I find that the vanilla smell fades pretty quickly, after about a half-hour, and is replaced by a baby-powdery smell. After about an hour or two, I can smell my underarm odor over the deodorant. Unlike crystal deodorants, Lavanila's doesn't block underarm odors from forming, it attempts to cover them with stronger smells. To accomplish that, I have to reapply a few times a day. I wanted the lavender scent from this excellent nontoxic deodorant. I have he vanilla scented deodorant, but it was difficult to get the lavender scent.
Upon receiving the lavender scented deodorant, I compared it to the vanilla scented deodorant (both LAVANILA the healthy deodorants) - there was no difference.
