Product reviews of L'Occitane Creme a Raser, Cade pour Homme (Shaving Cream for Men), 5.2-Ounce Tube

Review: Better than Kiehl's even!
Beauty product: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this shaving cream! I am an awful shaver (always cutting myself as I tend to shave too quickly) and have tried a number of different shaving creams and gels. I used to use Kiehl's exclusively but tried L'Occitane and totally loved it. I find the shaving cream heals and refreshes without too powerful of a scent. Paired with the after shave balm my face has never felt better :)

Review: Doesn't lather; doesn't protect
Beauty product: 1 Stars

This cream is very expensive and its performance simply fails to justify the cost. The company's website says you can work the cream up into a lather. Good luck with that. There are plenty of alternatives for half the price that are as good or better. I'm using Clinique M shave gel and it is the best I've found ($17 retail). Clinique's shave healer after shave cream is also quite good and also relatively inexpensive.

Review: One Star Shave Cream
Beauty product: 1 Stars

I have been shaving with a brush for many years and recently purchased the L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream. Contrary to the description on this page, it does not lather at all. I went to the local L'Occitane store and asked them about it, and they said it did NOT lather. Only their shaving soap in a bowl lathers. This is one of the worst shaving products I ever purchased.

Review: i love this stuff
Beauty product: 5 Stars

i used regular commercial shave gels, foams, etc. for most of my life. more recently, i have been moving away from petroleum products for my body and home... i found Cade Shave Cream to work well to soften my (rather tough) beard. i love the way it feels and smells. for my money, it's a great alternative to Gillette, Edge, et al. the tube i have now has lasted almost two years! a little goes a LONG way. to address the complaints that it doesn't lather up, well if that's your criteria then skip it and buy something other than a cream. a shave CREAM -in my experience- more lubricates than lathers.
i've tried several different brands (Avalon Organics, Burt's Bees to name a couple) and found this to work as well as any. it's my personal favorite.
