Product reviews of La Roche-Posay Biomedic Retinol 30 Cream (30ml) 1 Fluid Ounce Review: Great for revitalizing skin! Beauty product: 4 Stars
This retinol 30 cream is great for revitalizing your skin, but be careful not to use too much as it is pretty strong especially for sensitive skin. If it makes your face peel an extraordinary amount, then just mix it with a little moisturizer before applying and don't apply every day, but every third day until your skin gets used to it. It makes your skin feel smoother and helps with fine lines and sun spots getting rid of old layers of skin. If you have tried over the counter retinol and want something a little stronger, then I recommend you try this product!
Review: Great stuff! Beauty product: 4 Stars
I love this stuff for wrinkles. It really helps. I've used it for years. It doesn't irritate my skin or make me break out.
Review: Really works Beauty product: 5 Stars
Retinol 60 is recommended for dark skins but you have to find a balance between the percentage and the frequency of application that works for you. I am a medium brown African American, I never burn, but I bought the 30 and it was just fine combined with a topical vitamin C (Skinceuticals) and a bi-weekly home acid treatment (de la Mer). Between the three, I took 5 years off my face in one week! Using the 60 by itself on the back of my hands takes years off them, too!
Review: Works great, but... its price went up 300% in no time? Beauty product: 4 Stars
This cream does most of what it says it does. It leaves your face look fresher, just as if you did a face peel more frequently. It will dry out your skin on surface and at the beginning of using it you may feel some tingling. Also, if you start using it on your neck as well, you will feel more itching than just tingling, since that area is more sensitive than your face is. I had to stop using it on my neck all together as I could not stand the itch.
Now, I bought this product through Amazon just two months ago and I am already looking at buying another Retinol 30, or upgrading to Retinol 60. Back in August '10, this cream cost around US$40, and two months later, its price went up 300%, to over $120 some. Now, how is that possible??? I understand this is not Amazon marking it up, but who ever is selling it is trying to take a big time advantage of it. For that reason only, I will not buy this cream again through this seller, and instead, rather go to another one, and buy the stronger version.
Too bad.
Update a month later ~~~
Thank you for lowering its price to where it was in August '10. I did not think that its price of $120 would last. Plus, shipping was close to $30 for standard shipping from East to West Coast. Something did not add up. Why would a small tube cost almost $150. It is a great product, but not that great.
