Review: Did not live up to the hype.

I was looking for a product to pump up my sad little lashes and when reviews said this product could give me the dramatic look I wanted I decided I should give it a go. I paused a little at the price but decided it would probably be worth it. I was wrong.
The design of the brush causes it to get big clumps of product on it in weird places. I tried cleaning the brush, but to no avail. Every time I stuck it in, it would come back out with the weird random clumping pattern. That made for very strange and uneven application. With that application, I of course got clumping on my lashes and lots of flaking. I tried using a primer, but it did not help either.
I decided to try a different applicator, thinking that maybe it was just a bad brush. Even with the new applicator, the product would clump on my lashes and start flaking off as soon as it was dry. I tried applying only one coat. I tried applying multiple coats both waiting for previous coats to dry as well as applying with previous coats still wet. I have tried applying it on top of other mascaras for emphasis, but the flaking drives me nuts.
I wore it to a party and on the way there, a flake got in my eye. I tried to get it out without messing up my other makeup and failed miserably. I am just happy I do not wear contacts any more or it would have been a nightmare. As it was, I spend part of the evening with one red eye. Not quite the dramatic look I was going for that night.
All that said, IF I can manage to get it on just right it looks wonderful UNTIL it starts to flake. Maybe I just got a bad bottle, but I am not willing to shell out this price again to find out. I finally went out and bought a much less expensive drugstore mascara that gives me much better performance with no flakes.
