Product reviews of Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder Review: A make-up must have Beauty product: 5 Stars
I have a normal to oily skin type and this setting powder works wonders for me. With this powder, make-up stays a little longer. The powder is really light and does not leave a caked on feeling on my face; also no fragrance. Not inexpensive but for me it is worth its price.
Review: Best Beauty Products = Big Bucks Beauty product: 4 Stars
Personally, I don't care to spend too much on make-up, but there are a few products which I think are worth paying the extra few dollars for, such as Laura's, Setting Powder. I have yet to try a Laura Mercier product that doesn't satisfy my expectations. If you find loose powders to be messy or a hassle, then obviously, purchase a pressed powder rather than this product. If you like the light feeling of loose powders, you'll love this product. A little goes a long way, but not that long, so expect you'll need to buy some more in a couple of months and figure that into your beauty budget. :)
Review: Best Translucent Powder Beauty product: 5 Stars
Sets the foundation really well. You'll want to reapply about twenty minutes after the initial application but after that you're pretty much set for the rest of the day. This has been my favorite powder ever since I first tried it about 8 years ago. I have yet to find a cleaner finish.
Review: Best Translucent powder - no discoloration when your face gets oily Beauty product: 5 Stars
This is almost the best powder I've ever used. I have very fair skin and only very fair powders do the trick. Some fair women want color in their powder but I've always found that if I do have any color, the slightest bit of oil makes me turn orange, and because I'm fair, IT SHOWS.
I liked too in one review (not on this site), an African-American woman was saying that it was perfect for her darker skin - it really does fit everyone, because it is REALLY colorless. Neat concept. It's pretty matte and does give you a bit of coverage - a nice balance.
There are three things I would say that are not necessarily positive: (1) one jar last a few months, but no more. (2) sometimes it mattifies a bit too much - I like to have a bright face and let my skin through (I'm pretty natural). It looks natural an hour later, but right after you apply it, it looks VERY powdered, and (3) my all time favorite powder was a Chanel powder that had some type of pigment in it that brightened the skin. It was gorgeous - but they discontinued the lightest shade and I could no longer use the next one up. But, if you have access to duty free, and less than very fair skin, THAT is the best powder on the globe. Laura Mercier is a solid second.
Review: FANTASTIC PRODUCT Beauty product: 5 Stars
I thought I'd try this product (in translucent) based on the reviews below and WOW! From the first use my makeup looks as if it's been done by a professional, my skin looks soft and dewey and I FEEL fabulous! Will definitely be using this forever I think ! As someone who has difficult skin - rosacea, sensitivities to just about everything and a tendency to break out even though I'm in my 40's - I have long hunted for something that makes me look even a smidgeon like the advertisements but usually I end up with spots, dry patches and/or red and bumpy hives from too many chemicals in the products. This product hasn't caused any problems and I find you only need a small amount to get a brilliant result. Please read the other reviews and then try this for yourself - this is actually one product that I believe does live up to its promises (and more).
