Review: Way diluted when contrasted against older edition

My wife bought two similar gift sets from Nordstrom back in Dec 2007. She liked the perfume and had gotten used to the fragrance. So I got her this gift set this year.
The set arrived well ahead of scheduled delivery time, so that was a plus. However, as soon as she tried the perfume she noticed that it had way higher concentration of alcohol and less fragrance. She also said that the fragrance faded almost completely after about two hours. A comparable dose of the perfume from her older sets, in contrast, lasted about half a day.
She initially suspects that we got a counterfeit version of the perfume. We are still unsure about it, but it's totally possible that the manufacturer may have altered the formula (e.g. diluting the it with more alcohol and/or water), since there are no ingredient distribution printed on the boxes to compare. In either case, she doesn't like the current product since it pales in comparison with the older lot from back in 2007.
Fans of the product beware. New users, however, may or may not like the fragrance as it is now, so it may be worth a try if you've never used it before.
