Review: Different, but I kind of prefer it now

I didn't like this pomade at first because I found it hard to apply. I was used to products like American Crew that have a petroleum jelly sort of consistency. This product is opaque white in the container and much harder, like something between shortening and paraffin wax.
It is harder to apply. You must really work it into your hands before applying to your hair otherwise you could end up with little white chunks of pomade in your hair. The best way I found was to put a dab on my fingertip, then run it under hot hot water to soften it up, and then spread it between my fingers thoroughly. It definitely requires more effort than most pomades. It is also hard to wash off your hands.
But once I got used to the application, I found I prefer the all-day hold and the "dryer" appearance. It doesn't hurt that I actually received a random compliment on my hair. That has never happened to me before. It is not as "greasy" as AC style pomades. I do not get annoying acne on my temples like with other pomades. And very importantly to me, this pomade has no detectable fragrance.
