Ive been using this for 3 years now. I started using it when I was 19 and in college. I noticed that I was quickly losing my hair after I graduated highschool. During my freshman yr in college I remember noticing a big change over the course of the yr. Since I started using this stuff, my hair has pretty much stayed nearly the exact same over the last 3 yrs. My thin hair is still noticable, but I believe this stuff has kept it from becoming signicantly worse. I recently decided to stop for about a month or so to see if there would be any change since ive been using this for awhile now and I definatley started to notice a difference so I started right back up.
I use this stuff every night and occasionally in the mornings. You are suppose to use it twice a day but it makes my scalp irritated and gives me some dandruff, thus I prefer not to use it a lot in the mornings. THe times when I did use it twice a day for a few months I did start to notice some hair growth, but its hard to use so consistently. I have been fairly happy with this, and feel it is extending the time before Im bald.

I now use this product with a dab of Retin-A (Tretinoin) .1% (w/ the nightime application only), since I recently read the combination increases the effects of Minoxydil by 2 - 3x. Review: Inexpensive but it seemed to work

For a long time this is all I used. Seemed to work for about a year before I had to increase the percentage strength of Minoxidil to see any additional results. Now I use a 15% solution since I've stopped using a 5% like this one. Still if you're starting a hair regrowth regimen this is a good place to start. If you don't see results fast enough try a 10% or 15% solution. Review: It Works

I have been using it for 6 month and I am happy with the results.
Pros:
- It works
- Affordable.
- It works even if I apply it only once a day. In the beginning I used to apply it twice a day but it was too much hassle so it started using only once a day and it still works.
Negatives are:
- The long time it takes it to dry. It has a wet look for at least an hour and the hair looks much worse when wet. At times I blow dried it a bit to hasten the drying.
- I wish it was easier to apply. It flows down the head if I don't smear well enough. I now use a cotton stick to spread it while applying. It seems to help.
