I used Proactiv and wasn't pleased; it is very drying. I have tried over the counter and they are harsh too. This is a great product. Can be pricey but it is so worth it. I love this cleanser! I got it for my combination skin and to use with my Clarisonic. It has worked beautifully. My breakouts cleared up almost immediately and my skin looks tight and healthy - especially when I finish with the Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion. The cleanser foams really well so you feel clean but not too much. It doesn't sting the skin and just feels clean. The smell isn't the best but it's cleanser, not perfume. And it really does seem to work - I've been using it with my Clarisonic for a few weeks now and have noticed a decrease in breakouts.
The only thing I took off a star for is that it takes me a few good rinses to get all the cleanser off. Especially around my T-zone, it feels like there's a bit of residue left even after a thorough rinse of the face. But it's a small price to pay and at least you know it's working because you feel it on. Love this product. It makes my skin feel genuinely clean (not just slathered in soap) and fresh.

I've recently started using Murad's Clarifying Cleanser as part of my daily routine and I'm very impressed with the results. Not only does this cleanser smell fabulous, but it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft with no soapy residue left behind like some cleansers. And I know that it's working because even after just 3 weeks, my adult acne is almost completely gone! Review: May be harsh

I have sensitive oily skin that gets worse and breaks out when I am stressed, and I found this cleanser to be drying and irritating. It's better than other products, but the dryness after washing my face was uncomfortable enough for me to stop using it. It felt and smelled good while I was washing my face, but after I rinsed it off my face felt dried out and I had bright red blotches on my cheeks. If you are acne-prone but tend to react very sensitively to skin products, I wouldn't suggest buying this cleanser without testing a sample first. Review: Murad Clarifying Cleanser is a Must Have

I have tried many face cleaners, Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser and it is great. Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser has a nice scent and leaves my face feeling tingly clean without dry it out. Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser helps control my acne and I would recommend Murad to anyone who needs help with acne.
