Review: Highly recommended, but...

I have combination skin and am in my 40s. I purchased this cream because, according to reputable reviews, it is one of the best (especially in its price range, but apparently it's much better than much pricier creams). What can I say. After a few months of use, my skin doesn't seem changed much. I do have younger looking skin than most, so it may work for people with deeper wrinkles. However, it did not do anything to improve my skin tone. The most disappointing feature is that this cream just doesn't seem to be much of a moisturizer. I have very dry skin on my cheekbones, and this cream seems completely useless. On the bright side, it did not bring any redness or flakiness. It's fragrance free, which also helps. *Not* for use during the day without sunscreen: retinol increases. So... cheap, but kind of blah. It just goes to show that, while reviews may help, ultimately with cosmetics it's all about trial and error.
