Jasmine EO has a spiritual significance for me.
It has always made feel filled with hope, and I've read a few herb books which report historic uses of Jasmine is high priestess types of spiritual ceremonies (no, not the phony type of Roman orgies due to Jasmine's reported use as an aphrodisiac). Honestly I feel that Jasmine is too purifying and uplifting to be remembered only for its sensual stimulation rep, which may or may not be earned. It's true, though, that for women, being happy and feeling a sense of ethereal beauty from a goddess level couldn't hurt when it comes to coming on with grace.
For some sexuality is a spiritual expression. I really don't care what people do with sex as long as they're doing it with all parties willing and in private. I'm a conservative, private person myself, past any hope of physical prime, so, of course it's natural for me to be reaching higher than my boobs and beyond the drudgeries of this gravity grabbing life. Oops. Maybe it's past time I went downstairs and anointed my aura with another hit of Jasmine EO! Believe me, Jasmine, and Gardenia as well, are better mood lifters than Prozac. Nothing's as good a bittersweet chocolate, though.
Maybe you can begin to see why I'm addicted to reading culinary mysteries. I'm a natural, sensual person, but generally I'm too pooped to pop after I put all my energy into writing. I even cook in my dreams, especially since I love to sleep, and lavender EO helps me avoid problems there.
I've posted this rave on Jasmine under an Az page which offers an essential oil with synthetic ingredients, which I believe is more than great, as long as Jasmine is there. But, I do prefer pure Jasmine EO (which is most often an "absolute" rather than an EO, which you can read about on many of the web sites which sell a large selection of EO's, including Young Living, Auroma, Aromaland, Oshadhi, etc.)

In this Listmania on EO's I've included a variety of brands and oils so that it will be possible to pick those which are easily available on Amazon.com, from manufacturers' web sites, or in local outlets. Manufacturers of oils are reported to vary somewhat in dedication to good growing, harvesting, extraction processes, and they also vary greatly in price and detail of web site information offered. I like to keep a browser open on Amazon's buying page for a particular oil, and to also open a browser for the web site of the brand I'm studying in various oils. That way I can enhance the sometimes limited detail the vender has posted on Amazon's page.

My conclusions and opinions stated in my Listmanias and Reviews are my evaluations based on personal experience. As with everyone (including the most revered M.D.'s) my judgments of cause and effect are sometimes correct, sometimes incorrect. "Jumping-to-conclusions" happens regularly in human thinking/intuiting processes, even within the purest intentions and most diligent following of rules of The Scientific Method. Adhering to my philosophy of living a healthy life, I:
- Drink the right amount of water for me, and ingest enough salt and fats to allow the water to be used properly. (I wrote about this in my blog on AOL)
- Savor the culinary flavors of foods I eat, choosing when possible flavors & textures which appeal at the time of eating. For me ingesting what tastes good to me, at quantities no more or less than I want while eating in a sane, comfortable pace, is the very, very best "medicine" available. This is one of the reasons I read and review many culinary mystery series.
- Listen to my spirit. That is a learned art, not based on any religious principals I've read or been fed.
