Although the bottle makes the nail polish look like a dark maroon, that's not exactly the case... The color is actually very dark. It is practically black with bits of red sprinkled around here and there. Nonetheless, I love this nail polish because of how dark it is. It's almost black, but not quite. Review: nice dark polish

i was a little disappointed in the color at first -- it's basically black polish with red sparkles blended in. but, depending on the light, it *sometimes* looks a little more "burgundy" as it was described... still, very long-lasting and a great quality product
