Product reviews of Ped Egg Pedicure Foot File, Colors may vary Review: ~*~*~IT'S OKAY BUT A SANDING SPONGE WORKS WAY BETTER~*~*~ Beauty product: 4 Stars
My husband bought me a Ped Egg about a year ago because my heels were really dry and cracked...and kept scratching him at night.
The Ped Egg does work pretty well but if your feet are really bad you will have to do this quite a few times obviously. And depending on how often you use this, it will get dull and then does not work very well anymore. After a few months, mine got pretty dull and didn't work very well.
Several months ago I wanted to wear flip flops and my heels were a gross/dry mess and my Ped Egg was just too dull to work. I asked my husband if he knew where his hand sander was because I was literally going to try that on my feet. He thought that I meant the hand sanding sponge and brought me that. So I tried it out, it was a medium on one side and course on the other. I tried the course and wow, that thing was amazing. It worked better and faster than the Ped Egg because the sponge contours to your foot and has more actual sanding area. Plus I could do more than just my heels, the ball of my feet and my big toes were also a little dry and I used it on them too. Once I used the course side to get most of the big dry patches off, I used the medium side. My feet were actually really smooth then but I had my husband bring me the fine sanding sponge and I made my feet even more smooth. So what would have taken days or over a week with the Ped Egg, I was able to do in about 20 minutes with a couple sanding sponges. Plus they are cheaper and last a lot longer.
After I sand my feet I put either Badger Brand Healing Balm all over my feet and then a pair of socks, or some other kind of lotion(or even cooking shortening works really well)
Now I just have to use the fine sanding sponge when my heels start to get any dryness.
Most people don't know that dry/cracked heels is usually genetic, instead of shedding the old skin like its supposed to it stays on your feet. If you go to a Dermologist they can prescribe you a foot cream and it basically eats away the dead skin(I discovered that when I went to the Dermotologist for a routine checkup and she looked at my heels)
Wether you try the sanding sponge or use the Ped Egg, good luck and moisturizing your feet before bed and then wearing socks all night really helps.
