Product reviews of Philosophy Hope in a Jar 4 oz Review: No Hope Here Beauty product: 1 StarsI am very disappointed in this product. I read so many great reviews about it online and in magazines, but I found it leaves my face greasy and actually causes breakouts for my skin type.
Review: Caught up in the name Beauty product: 2 StarsI bought Hope in a Jar because I needed a moisurizer that was a step above what I can find at the store. I got caught up in the name of this product and it didn't really deliver and neither did the product description. I don't see a difference and I have used the moisturizer daily for almost a month. Also, it has an off-putting "fishy" scent which was hard to ignore. I'm glad I only bought the smallest jar. I'm bummed that I didn't get my 3 Sephora samples as promised with my order.
Review: Had a very bad reaction to this product Beauty product: 1 StarsI use alot of the philosophy products and love them. I have used Hope in a Bottle and never had a problem with it. I had a sample of the Hope in a Jar and I used it. By the end of the day I noticed my eyelids were swollen and by the next morning my eyes were almost swollen shut. I'm on day 2 of this reaction and the swelling has come down considerably but an itchy rash has appeared on my eyelids and on my cheekbones. I didn't think I used it around my eyes but apparently I did. The only other product by philosophy that I have had an allergic reaction to was Inner Grace perfume and cream. I can use all the other Grace perfumes, creams soaps etc but not Inner Grace. I guess now I have to put Hope in a Jar on that list as well.
Review: Great but expensive.... Beauty product: 5 StarsI had the make-up optional kit which includes "Hope in a jar" and loved it (except the price). I am in my 50's and when I started using the kit--people would stop me mid-conversation to mention my skin looking great! Never had that happen before and I attributed it to the "Hope in a jar" which gives the skin a rosy glow. As I continued to use the product I believed that it maintains good skin but does not smooth out those fine lines you get in your 50's. While I adored "When Hope is not Enough" serum also --that as well, did nothing for laugh lines or firmed the skin--but I loved the way it felt. (The only product in the kit that really did absolutely nothing is the little hope in a tube lip line product. Seriously, that did zip.)
Anyway, after running out of Hope in a jar and the Hope serum--and not re-ordering them--- I got dermatitis from using other products! It has been frustrating to say the least. I do believe now, that there is something in "Hope in a jar" that balances skin or at least my skin and once I stopped using those 2 products twice daily--my skin has had so many problems.
So, while "Hope in a jar" may not reduce fine lines--it does keep the skin in beautiful condition health wise. I regret that I did not re-order this product.
Review: Not good for wrinkles Beauty product: 3 StarsHope in a Jar is a very good product if you have normal skin, its very moisturizing. I do not agree with all the reviewers who said it smells bad, for me the scent is great, maybe a little bit too strong. I'm almost 30 and i have very good skin but i am looking for products that will stop premature age marks, since i'm a doctor and get little sleep. That is not one of Hope in a Jar benefits, i prefer Clinique Step 3 in my case.
