Review: Hope is a hit!
Beauty product: 4 Stars

Hope in a Jar is a terrific moisturizer. It leaves my skin soft and well hydrated but not greasey. It doesn't smell that great but it's tolerable.

Review: The best every day moisturizer for me!
Beauty product: 5 Stars

I started using this about 1-1/2 years ago after seemingly trying it all. I have normal to dry skin that was prone to adult breakouts for years that left behind mild scarring/discoloration. So many acne products just dried out my skin, and then the moisturizers were either insufficient or caused more breakouts. Now my routine involves using Origins Checks and Balances wash followed by this moisturizer. Every week or so I use the Microdelivery 2-step Peel. With this regime I have had no breakouts worth mentioning and my skin tone has gotten so noticeably better that I'm getting compliments on my complexion! I actually like the scent of this -- it is not perfumey. It is light yet keeps my skin moist. I do use other products, mostly for my eyes, at night, but this is my everyday daytime moisturizer. I RARELY ever wear makeup, and if I do, I wear a VERY light foundation over Philosophy's "The Present" for a natural "polished" look when its called for. But I don't need it, and it's to enhance my skin not cover it up!!

I believe the results to be cumulative over a few months and then this maintains great looking skin! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Review: Honestly a bad product.
Beauty product: 1 Stars

I had to wash my hands 3 times to get the smell off of them... and I didn't even dare put it on my face. It's greasier than some sex lubricants I've used. seriously.

Review: not a lot of hope here
Beauty product: 2 Stars

I have been using Hope In a Jar for about two months now, and while there is some immediate improvement in the texture of my skin (not permanent--it only lasts while it's on my skin) I have not seen the overall improvement or results promised by this product. And for the price, they should at least make it smell better--it stinks!

Review: great on my oily blemished skin!
Beauty product: 4 Stars

I received a deluxe sample of Philosophy's hope in a jar cream. I have been using it for almost two weeks and have since ordered a full-sized jar of it. I have acne-prone skin that is mostly oily. I tried some new acne products and they dried out my skin, so I gave hope in a jar a trial run to restore the balance.

In just two weeks, I have seen a major improvement in my skin. I have no new blemishes and the scars from the old ones seem to be fading. My skin is hydrated, but it doesn't feel greasy. A little goes a long way, so I'm sure that the jar that I ordered is going to last a long time. I still think that $60 is too much for only 4 ounces, so I gave this 4 stars instead of 5.

I know a lot of other reviewers complained about the smell. I don't mind it. When I was younger, my mom used a natural fragrance-free vitamin e lotion that smells a lot like hope in a jar. I think that hope in a jar smells the same because it's fragrance-free. That's a good thing since the chemicals that are used to add fragrance can sometimes irritate sensitive skin. I'd rather have lotion that smells like vitamin e lotion than pretty-smelling lotion that makes me break out. The smell goes away after the lotion dries anyways.

I see that they offer a half ounce size, which is about the same size as the deluxe sample I tried. If you're on the fence about this lotion, order the small size and give it a couple of weeks to see how it works for you.
