I really like this as a post shave cream. The smell is not nearly as bad as some of the reviews - in fact I actually find it refreshing and is integral to my morning wake up routine. I also use it pre-shave and I think it helps a little bit. Review: Good texture, absorbs well. Do you like Eucalyptic?

This, as other reviewers have suggested is a fine product. It is easily absorbed into the skin and forms a protective barrier for shaving. I have very sensitive skin and don't really like the "icy-fire" sensation of Eucaltyis (my spelling is off, sorry). I find that it does help the shave, but I am "aware" of that feeling on my face more than I like.
Other than that, I like it. It has the texture of a quality product. It comes in a glass container. Very old school.

I have only used this a few times since getting it but it seems to do what it claims..I do not use it as a post shave balm..there are plenty of other products designed for after shaving that I prefer over this..however, as a pre shave this really seems to "prep" your facial hair and give you a nice close shave, when using this with the Proraso shave cream you really get a nice close shave and it cools your skin so you do not get any buring sensation from shaving..the smell is nice and I love the cooling effect it has..Proraso products are cheap in price but I would put them up there with other high end & more expnsive shaving products on the market today...a little goes a long way so this jar will last you for a long time..A++ product for a pre-shave..try it out, you will not be disappointed.. I purchased this product along with my first double-edged safety razor and the Proaso shaving cream. The smell is pleasant, though not at all strong. This product is great for softening the beard before shaving, and leaves my face cool and tingling after shaving. My skin has also been noticeably healthier since using this product. A little goes a long way, and I expect I will only need to purchase this product at most twice a year given the amount in each jar.
This product is a staple in Italy, and it's easy to see why. It's a classic, with no fills but good ingredients that leave user feeling refreshed after each application. I recommend this product

This cream will get your beard ready for that perfect shave. As soon as you apply it, you will feel the warmth of the cream. After applying it, go with the Proraso shaving cream tube and execute the shave. After shaving, rub a dime size amount on your beard for a fresh feeling.
