This is a great heavier conditioner. I alternate my conditioners and this works great for my everyday. My hair is shiny and soft. I have fine hair so I use it for detangling. Review: Great product!

Recently, I have been trying out products that will refresh my hair back to it's soft luster. I'm not sure about the other Redken's Smooth Down products, but I give this Butter Treat 5 stars! I have 3c fine curly hair(not chemically altered), but I got lazy due to school over the years by just putting it up into a ponytail and go, so it has dried a lot. It dried so much that my hair has like almost two textures. Since I was lazy, I only gave moisture to the front and neglected the middle of my head, back of my head and especially my ponytail is fried. Anywho! To get to the point, the first try using Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat I noticed how much it left my hair feeling really soft and moisturized. Oh did I mention that with the outcome of neglecting my hair it became hard to comb? Mind you that I only comb my hair while wet. After leaving Smooth Down in my hair for about 15-20mins while I shower, it was so easy to comb! I didn't even need a comb, I could finger comb it. I've been using a staple shampoo I grew up with, V05 and it isn't good for my hair type as it has Sulfate in it, thus leaving my hair sucked out clean of all it's moisture. Regardless of using a bad shampoo, my hair felt soft and moisturized. I'm on my 6th use of this little tube and a little goes a long way. I've just bought Organix's Smothing Shea Butter shampoo, so I hope I have a keeper along with Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat! Review: the best hair care item on the market

my hair dresser told me my hair was in bad shape and extremely dry. she told me to use "smooth down" for very dry unruly hair. I am an African American with a relaxer. The most important thing about this product is that you can use it as a leave in conditioner. Smooth it on the dry edges and it works miracles.
