Review: Could be better...

I bought this iron to replace my ancient Vidal Sassoon straightener that isn't dual voltage (I'm moving to the UK so this is needed).
The product was just as pictured. It also warmed up really quick as advertised. My immediate complaints about this straightener are as follows:
1) When squeezed, the plates don't completely line up. I might have gotten a faulty one.
2) While there is an edge to protect you from burning your hands, the sheer weight of this product caused me to burn my finger within a minute of use by my hand sliding down.
3) While the product is effective in straightening, it has a weird feel to it like it's not actually holding on to your hair during use. Again, it still works and this might just be something I need to get used to.
All in all, 3 stars. This straightener does what it's suppose to - straighten, and in a quick amount of time. It doesn't give the glossiness my other straightener did but that's something easily fixed with additional hair products. I'm going to keep it but I'm still refusing to throw out my old one - just in case.

Heats up quickly, love the plates, and very easy to use. My hair is both thick, coarse and very wavy/curly. Many of the straighteners that I have used in the past required multiple passes on the same spot to really get it straight. Not on this one! Love it! The plates are a great size and don't quite go all the way to the edge so burning yourself is not an issue. Love that you can lock it closed and love that it has an auto shut off feature. I have been through my fair share of affordable hair straighteners and I have to say this one has done a much better job than all the rest hands down. Unless you have the money to shell out for a ridiculously priced flat iron, this does a remarkable job at a price you wont feel guilty about. I have never had any problems with it--it heats up quickly and does a really wonderful job. I highly recommend this to anyone! Review: The heating plates didn't align

My husband bought me a Chi for Christmas. After I found out how much he spent on it, I had him return it and I bought the Remington which claimed to be as good if not better than the Chi at a much lower price. I was happy with the price but the product was terrible. I had to hold it with both hands to get it to close. The plates did not align and I had to return it. My husband went back to get the more expensive Chi and I have loved it. You get what you pay for. Review: great product

For those straightener fanatics out there, you'll definitely appreciate this one! Not only does it heat up super fast, it also gets super hot (yah, not good for your hair, but again, said this was a great product for straightener fanatics)
