Product reviews of SUN Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Micro Spray (6 oz) Review: sputtering spray Beauty product: 2 Stars
A casual acquaintance of mine highly recommended this Sun tanning micro-spray so I decided to buy some for my fish-belly white skin. Once it arrived, I decided to experiment on the inner part of my left arm (I'm right handed). Upon spraying, the tanning fluid came out 85% "micro-spray" and 15% sputtering blobs. The result was a fairly uniform thin film (which is wanted) plus many dots/blobs, some quite large, that were peppered throughout and going to look like freakish freckles. I shook the bottle, sprayed into the air to hopefully de-clog the aerosol jet, and tried again on the same arm--- just more of the same! So I tried to rub the tanning spray around to even things out and cursed when I saw that this made things even worse--- instead of making everything uniform, I ended up with streaks and blotches. At this point I abandoned the experiment and tried to simply undo the damage by washing my arm with soap and water, which got rid of most of it. What remained was, surprisingly, a fairly uniformly tan-looked arm... I was expecting worse, given what I'd seen before washing.
I don't know if I got a defective bottle of the stuff or what, maybe the sprayer was plugged from the get-go, who knows. But the bottom line is that I'm reluctant to try spraying this stuff on a larger, more visible portion of my body for fear of the spots/blobs/splotches looking like mutant freckles or birthmarks. Maybe I'll experiment again on the other arm some evening soon, after having attempted to clean out the spray jet again, hopefully with better results. Disappointing.
